temporary outage affecting some public library online services during system upgrade | thebaynet.com | TheBayNet.com
SOMD – Southern Maryland Public Library customers may experience online service disruptions when the regional catalog software and hardware is updated on Wednesday, September 22.
The temporary disruption will only affect customers accessing the online catalog and certain digital resources. During the upgrade, customers can still collect and return materials in person at Southern Maryland Public Library branches.
In addition to the online catalog of materials, the following services will be briefly discontinued:

â¢ Ancestry library
â¢ BrainFuse education, testing and career guidance resources
â¢ The comprehensive database of children’s literature
â¢ Hoopla digital media services
â¢ School, career and exam preparation resources from the LearningExpress library
â¢ Professional training LinkedIn Learning
â¢ OverDrive digital documents
â¢ Tumblebook Library Children’s Literature Portal
â¢ Value Line investment information services
Upgrade work may extend beyond 2 p.m. on September 22, but is expected to be completed this afternoon.
