PennDOT License and Columbus Day Photo Centers, Online Services Available


The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will be closing all driver’s license and photo centers, including the Riverfront Office Center in Harrisburg, Saturday through Monday for the Columbus Day holiday.

Customers can still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services, including all driver training forms, publications and manuals, online at PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website, www.dmv.pa.gov.

Online services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and include driver’s license, photo ID and vehicle registration renewals; driver history services; changes of address; driver’s license and vehicle registration overhaul letters; ability to pay the cost of overhauling driver’s license or vehicle insurance; duplicate driving license and photo ID; and scheduling driving tests. There is no additional charge for using online services.

Motorists can check the conditions on the main kilometers of the roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to over 1,000 speed cameras.

The 511PA is also available through a smartphone app for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
