New Radiator Service Company in Charlottetown

CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI — A radiator repair service in Charlottetown has changed hands after 90 years of family business.

Mallett’s radiator was sold by Donald Mallett to Chris Dalziel of Charlottetown, who also owns Pro Color Collision Charlottetown and Dalziel’s Detail Center.

Mallett’s Radiator offers repair and replacement of radiators of all sizes and was started in 1932 by Elmer Mallett.

The company originally operated on Great George Street, where the Jean Canfield Building stands today.

Donald’s father, Ralph Mallett, took over ownership of the business in 1970, and Donald began working in the business in the 1980s. In 1986, Donald was named owner of the business.

Donald said he was proud to have owned and operated the family business for 35 years.

“I appreciate the staff who have been by my side throughout the trip. I am also grateful for the many long-time customers who have returned to the business over the years, and I know they will be well taken care of by Chris and his team,” he said.

Dalziel said he was familiar with Mallett’s radiator, having sent many vehicles to the company over the years.

“I am excited about this opportunity as Mallett’s Radiator provides many synergies to our current service offering at Pro Color Collision Charlottetown,” Dalziel said. “Donald’s reputation is second to none in the industry, and I am delighted to continue working to serve current and future Mallett’s Radiator customers.”
