HIBBING, MN – A charter air services company will be relocating to a new hangar at Range Regional Airport in Hibbing.
According to an announcement from the Chisholm-Hibbing Airport Authority on Friday, they recently signed a rental agreement with Premium Air.
In addition to the private charter service, Premium Air will also offer flight lessons from a new hangar, which is expected to be built in the spring.
Premium Air’s charter fleet will consist of an eight-passenger King Air 350 and a three-passenger Cirrus SR22.
The company will lease more than 13,000 square feet of offices and hangars.
The airport will use the remaining 8,100 square feet of hangar space to provide space for passing aircraft.
The new airport hangar will help house the large business jets that frequently visit the Iron Range area.
The Department of Iron Range Resources and the Chisholm-Hibbing Airport Authority financed the new 21,000 square foot hangar with a 20-year loan.
The state has also contributed to the financing of grants.
Premium Air aims to make air transport “more accessible and economical for individuals and businesses”.
